Styled Shoot – By Order Of The Peaky Blinders!
Wildly romantic and brimming with vintage style, our Peaky Blinders themed winter shoot has all the ingredients of a true blockbuster.
As autumn turned to winter, we headed down to the banks of the Mersey on the coldest, crispest day of the year to pay homage to the industrial, working-class heritage of the Ellesmere Port Docklands.
Our vision for the day was to create a slick, vintage style shoot that was totally in keeping with the Peaky Blinder’s era. Designed to showcase our talented suppliers and the unique location of Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port we set out to create a carefully curated ‘urban luxe’ style shoot with real wow factor…
The Venue
Driven by the imaginative team at Holiday Inn EP, much of the imagery was shot
on location at the nearby Ellesmere Port Boat museum and docklands surrounding the hotel.
Available for couples to use on their wedding day, we wanted to help transport your imagination
away from the traditional hotel setting and inspire you by utilising backdrops you wouldn’t normally
associate with a hotel based wedding.
Styled To Perfection
Our hand-picked team of suppliers, props and accessories for the day all added to the overall vintage
theme. Our stylist Ella from The Event Edit, chose some incredible accessories from Honey V Tiaras
and Adorn By Ashley to compliment the gorgeous gowns which were supplied by us and of course our
very own My Shelby model Lloyd who was dressed by Groom in Warrington.
Our favourite accessory has to be the gorgeous lace boots by the super-talented Nicole at House Of
Elliot. These beautifully designed, hand-made lace boots were bang on theme and looked super-cute
when teamed with the vintage inspired dresses.
Hair & Make-Up
Hair and make-up on the day was kept very much on theme by the amazingly talented
Heather C. The vintage theme was on point with my stunning finger waves
complimented by hair ornaments from The Bridal Lounge and Ella’s Gatsby style up-do
which was set off beautifully with a stunning headpiece from Honey V Tiaras. Heather
created a stunning ‘glowy’ natural look for me, with lots of nudes and a touch of
sparkle while Ella looked every inch the Peaky heroine with dramatic smokey eyes and
super-seasonal deep berry lips.
Floral Design
Another huge part of the day – the stunning flowers from the super-talented Debbie
Bennet at Wirral based Lilac and Thyme.
Debbie absolutely aced the Winter / Peaky’s theme with two divine 1920’s inspired
bouquets and show stopping buttonholes in shades of winter whites with seasonal
foliage, thistles and even a few peacock feathers.
Sweet Sensation
The art-deco inspired cake and delectable lollipop favours were designed by the immensely
talented The Pretty Cake Studio. Her first black cake, the 1920’s styling and gold touches were
an absolute triumph and matched the theme perfectly.

Venue Dressing
Our super-talented event dressers, Sharon and the team from Coverstory Weddings & Events worked
their magic once again on the blank canvas backdrop of the Holiday Inn’s Mercer Suite to create a
dreamy, greenery filled ceremony space along with some Peaky inspired table centres for the wedding
breakfast shots.
Photography
You can have the best location, models and props in the world but it takes real talent to make it shine.
We were so unbelievably lucky to work with one of the industry’s best and most original photographers on this project. The amazing Emma Ryan made the trip from Thirsk in north Yorkshire to shoot for us and boy are we grateful!
What a talent – the images are nothing less than superb.
Emma loved shooting in Ellesmere Port and travels all over the UK and Europe capturing couples on their big day. To find put more about Emma’s amazing work please visit: www.emmaryanphotography.co.uk
